About Greenhithe Pony Club (GHPC)
GHPC started over 35 years ago. Its grounds at Wainoni Park South are leased from the Auckland City Council, which recognises and supports the Club as an important part of the sporting amenities it offers. The land leased by GHPC adjoins the land leased by Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled (GRDA) at Wainoni Park North, and both organisations share resources from time to time, to their mutual benefit.
The club has excellent facilities that have been built up over its long history, including the only Open level PC cross country course on the North Shore, an excellent all weather floodlit 20m x 60m arena, a large selection of equipment, implement sheds, covered grooming area and Clubhouse.
GHPC’s members’ capabilities range from beginners to experts – and you do not need to be experienced to join. Throughout the levels there are those who are very keen to compete - and we encourage that, indeed the Pony Club structure easily presents those opportunities throughout the season. However we also do not lose sight of those who simply want to enjoy and be around horses – GHPC caters to all levels and interests.
